Black History Month
February is Black History Month in Canada. A time to honour, commemorate and learn about the achievements and contributions of Black Canadians.
Here are a few ways to celebrate this month:
- Support Black-owned businesses when choosing vendors for your firm/office/legal department.
- Work with your Black employees (including resource groups/diversity councils if you have them) to plan, attend or sponsor events, webinars, etc.
- Consider supporting anti-racism initiatives in your area.
- Learn more about Black history, Black trailblazers and Black leaders in Alberta and Canada – read a book, listen to a podcast, watch a film.
