- Post-Articling
Once you have completed your articling term, there are a few important items to be aware of:
Approved Working Arrangement
You are permitted to work as a student-at-law under your same supervising principal up to a maximum of 90 days after the completion of articles without notifying the Law Society.
If you are working beyond the 90 days, or if you change firms or principals after the completion of articles, you must enter into an Approved Working Arrangement and submit an Undertaking to be completed by the supervising lawyer (See Rule 52). Undertakings may be submitted for a maximum of 90 days at a time.
Principal Certification
After the official end date of your articles, your principal must certify your articling term in their Lawyer Portal. This can be done under their “My Students” page.
Bar Call and Enrolment
Once you have successfully completed your articles and the Practice Readiness Education Program (PREP) you are eligible to schedule your bar call and apply for enrolment as a member. Please see our Bar Call & Enrolment page for more information.
