- Completing the Articling Term
Certification of Articles
At the end of the articling term, a principal is required to complete an online form in the Lawyer Portal to certify that their student-at-law met the requirements of the Education Plan and completed their articles. If there are any questions about the completion of this form, please contact Membership.
Bar Call Ceremony
When a student-at-law has completed their articling term and the principal has certified their articles, it is the student-at-law’s responsibility to make arrangements for their bar call ceremony. The bar call ceremony should be scheduled for at least 30 days after the date the student submits a complete enrolment application and at least 30 days after the last day of the student’s articles. While a principal may present their student-at-law at a bar call ceremony, it is not required. Any active member may perform a bar call ceremony.
There is more information about bar calls and enrolments available in the Principal Training Course.
