- eBulletins
If you are an active (practising or non-practising) lawyer and the Law Society of Alberta has your current email address, you are automatically on the Law Society of Alberta’s list to receive eBulletins. If you are not receiving them, please check that:
- the messages are not in a “junk” folder;
- the messages are not caught by your SPAM filtering service; and,
- your correct email address is registered with the Law Society of Alberta.
Help with Receiving eBulletins
If you are using Microsoft’s Outlook or Outlook Express, please look in the folder named “Junk Email”. If you see the bulletin in this folder, click on the “Not Junk” button that appears at the top of your screen.
Please add feedback@lawsociety.ab.ca to your “allowed” list.
Spam filtering is usually provided through your email service provider.
For offices running internal email systems, please check with your system administrator on how to find SPAM messages and “allowing” specific messages to be delivered. This may require they look through your “email log” to see if they can find the record of our eBulletin.
Others may check with their Internet Service Provider’s SPAM services. Usually, these services can be accessed and configured through the webmail interface. For example, use your browser and navigate to http://webmail.domainname.com where domainname.com is your service provider (e.g. telus.net). There is usually a “junk” folder that you can view and a button to say “this is not junk” if you find a legitimate message there (for this to work, you may need to set your preferences to “quarantine” spam rather than just to delete it). The permanent solution is to add feedback@lawsociety.ab.ca to your “allowed” list.

Billing and filing deadlines calendar
The Law Society has created a free online calendar that lists all Law Society and Alberta Lawyers Indemnity Association major filing and billing deadlines throughout the year. This includes dates for annual membership fees, indemnity levy, Trust Safety filings, Continuing Professional Development and more.
You can add this Google calendar to your mobile or desktop. This will allow the calendar to fully integrate with your current calendar, making it easy to view and plan for upcoming deadlines. Updates to the calendar will be made regularly throughout the year and your device will automatically reflect any changes.
For more information on how to access this online calendar, please refer to our Frequently Asked Questions.
