Thank You to Outgoing President, Deanna Steblyk, KC
We would like to thank our outgoing President, Deanna Steblyk, KC, for her service as President..
Deanna joined the Board in 2018 after many years serving as a volunteer of Law Society committees. She is Senior Special Counsel to the Vice-Chairs at the Alberta Securities Commission, where she assists Commission adjudicators with legal research, preparation of oral and written decisions and policy matters.
“It has been a pleasure and a privilege to serve as a Bencher the past seven years or so, and especially to serve as President in 2024–2025,” says Deanna. “I’m very proud of what the Law Society has been able to accomplish during that time, and I’m confident that it is well-positioned to continue that important work in the future.
One of the most rewarding parts of the position for me has been the opportunity to meet people and make contacts and friends I would not otherwise have crossed paths with, not only among my fellow Benchers, but also among the Law Society’s excellent staff, those involved in the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, the judiciary, the Government of Alberta, and other stakeholders. Thank you for everything – I will miss interacting with all of you on a regular basis and sincerely hope we remain in touch.
To the legal profession in Alberta, thank you for your ongoing support of the Law Society’s work. I am truly grateful to have had this opportunity to serve.”
We are grateful to Deanna for her time, commitment and significant contributions as a volunteer, Bencher and President.
